Another One Bites The Dust
As the few of you readers know, Rob has an uncanny ability to split his pants, shorts, swimwear open at the most unopportune time. This was one of the most recent episodes. Rob called me one friday and said "You won't believe what just happened at work...." after telling me how this lovely split occurred he finished by saying "at least I was wearing blue underwear today!" I'm thinking to myself...yah, maybe that would have been camofulaged if you hadn't duct tape a silver memo to your crotch and minus the bright yellow vest that really conveys..."Look at me, my pants are now too small to be wearing". From my days of youth, 'fat man in a little coat' came playing back to my mind. But as he said, at least he was wearing underwear, unlike the unfortunate float trip of 2011 where his swim shorts split and his mesh drawers and the goods where exposed.
Thank you Rob for all of the laughter you bring into my life, whether or not you mean to :)

Carter & Chase stay the night
Well this weekend Rob and I had the pleasure of assisting in a babysitting Carter & Chase for one evening. We had a good time taking the boys fishing at James A Reed reserve park near our house.
All in all, we had a great time with the boys, as well as seeing Mike and Teresa. Rob and I hope we get many more opportunities to babysit our favorite nephews!
Chase loved getting the worms out and helping uncle Robby put them on the line. I don't think I've ever seen a kid more excited about worms before :)
Chase proudly holding the fish he helped reel in!
Once again the bait-master in action
Carter posing with his fish he helped to reel in. Don't mind the beer bottle in the background. Just an extra service we provide during our babysitting service to the young-ins

My favorite faces
Yes, as stupid as it sounds I love these two monsters. Look how stinking adorable they look in their new K-State bandanas compliments of my friend Sara. Oh what majestic beasts (Rob hates it when I call them that) :)
Baseball season has arrived!
Bret's senior year of high school has come to an end. Here are just a couple pics of his last season of high school ball. Mill Valley Jags were pretty fabulous to watch. I believe they ended their season 17-4 and won their regional game and made it to state in Wichita last weekend.

Eskimo Rob at the bonner game in April. What a wimp, it was a whopping 60 deg

Spring Cleaning
Fresh out of hibernation
Layer one off
Dirty Stache....he wears it well. I tried to convince him to go to work like this
Almost there....
Fresh & Clean, just in time for spring!
My Boys
Can hardly believe how fast the time has been going by recently. Spring is officially here and it feels that summer is right on its heels. I know I love this time of year and so do the boys. They've really enjoyed being outside and getting into all kinds of shenanigans.
This is what I look like when it hasn't rained in one week. I like to find things to get in to!!!
They love to dig. We come home to find holes like this one all the time.
After playing outside all day, we need to catch up on our beauty sleep

My Fall Project
Well, I've since tried to work on this post a couple of times but my computer has been slow to update. I'll try this again! I was going to share my prideful project from this fall.
A few years back my grandparents had down sized their home to an independent living apartment in a retirement community. I was blessed to receive my grandmother's table, chairs, china hutch and her beautiful china. However, I was a student at the time and living in a tiny apartment and didn't have the space for such a great gift, then I moved to Austin where we also had zero room. Now that we're settled into our new home in KC we have a perfect space for this gift. We picked the table, hutch and chairs up this fall.....it was just a little different than I had remembered it to be.
This was my first project I've been able to fly mostly solo on. Rob did show me a few techniques to get me started but I was able to complete a majority of the project on my own including stripping all the chairs and the china hutch, then sanding them all, staining them all, then putting a finish solution onto them all. It took me a a full weekend and two week nights to complete but I was so proud I created a quality product we'll be able to enjoy for many years to come. This spring I'm planning on finishing the table and hopefully a dresser in our guest room.
Rob told me I made the A team on this project, thank goodness I've upgraded from the C team painting projects of the past!!!!
